Significance
The authors developed a class of chiral olefin-sulfoxide hybrid ligands and utilized them in the Rh-catalyzed asymmetric conjugate addition to attain high yield and enantioselectivity. A benzene ring links the olefin and the sulfoxide, providing suitable coordination to the metal center.
