Significance

Hydroaminoalkylations provide an efficient route to α-substituted amines which are precursors to a number of industrially important compounds. The authors report the catalytic, ­intramolecular hydroaminoalkylation of amino­alkenes. Importantly, the alkylation is carried out in the absence of protecting groups and primary amines are employed as substrates, a feat which has not been previously reported.
