Significance

Photolysis of benzodioxinone-based monomer 1 in CH₂Cl₂ at λ _inc = 300 nm yielded oligoesters 2. The oligomers exhibited narrow, monomodal molecular-weight distribution (PDI = 1.01-1.03), and their structures were confirmed by FT-IR and ¹H NMR spectral measurements.
