Significance

Phosphine dendrimer-stabilized palladium nanoparticles [G-3]-PPh2-Pd were developed. Thus, the dendritic phosphine ligand [G-3]-PPh2 was prepared according to the reported procedures (V. J. Catalano, N. Parodi Inorg. Chem. 1997, 36, 537-541). Reduction of Pd(acac)2 with H2 was carried out in the presence of the [G-3]-PPh2 to give the [G-3]-PPh2-Pd (eq. 2). Suzuki-Miyaura reactions of aryl halides with arylboronic acids were promoted by [G-3]-PPh2-Pd to give the corresponding biaryls in high yield (13 examples: 80-94% yield; eq. 1).
