Significance

A highly efficient protocol for the asymmetric hydrogenation of a range of cyclic N-alkyl imines was reported. The chiral cationic Ru-MsDPEN complexes afforded the products in excellent isolated yields and enantioselectivities (up to 98% ee). The reactions were typically carried out on a 0.2 mmol scale.
