Significance

Chiral dinuclear rhodium and rhenium complexes are well known to catalyze a range of enantioselective reactions. However, while mononuclear palladium systems have been extensively studied, much less work has been done on related chiral dinuclear complexes containing a Pd-Pd bond. In the present paper, the authors report the synthesis of dinuclear palladium complex 1 and its application in the enantioselective ring-opening reactions of azabenzonorbornadienes.
