Significance

The authors describe the stereodivergent construction of three contiguous stereocenters in catalytic double diastereoselective nitro­aldol reations of α-chiral aldehydes with nitro­aldehyde dimethylacetal using two types of het­erobimetallic catalysts. It is interesting that the facial selectivity of α-chiral aldehydes in the nitroaldol reactions was controlled by changing the chiral catalysts.
