Significance

The unprecedented cotrimerization products, chiral furylcyclopropanes, were obtained from alkenes and dialkyl acetylenedicar­boxylates with perfect enantio- and diastereo-
selectivities. These results provided important clues for the possible mechanisms in the cationic rhodium/phosphine-catalyzed trimetrization reactions.
