Significance

The designed METAMORPhos ligand, an adaptive supramolecular building block, which can dynamically adapt various tautomeric forms and give rise to a unique mechanism in the asymmetric hydrogenation reaction, is described in this paper. Good enantioselectivity and turn-over frequency is achieved through the use of such a hydrogen-bound hetero bis-ligated rhodium complex.
