Abstract

In 96 infants aged 1 day to 16 months 160 examinations of two dimensional ultrasound scanning of the skull were performed by an ATL-sector-scanner MARK III. Usually the examination was done through the open anterior fontanelle. Excellent correspondance of the coronar and sagittal ultrasound-sections to performed cranial CATS could be established. In 8 selected cases the advantages and disadvantages of the cerebral sector-sonography relating to the CAT are discussed.
