Significance

The authors proposed a new class of highly efficient and easily adjustable ligands for Pd-catalyzed amination and Suzuki cross-coupling reactions. The ligands are prepared in two synthetic steps from readily available precursors. This approach allows to synthesize the ligands in a combinatorial way in order to adjust their catalytic activity for a given reaction. The activity of these catalysts in the amination and Suzuki-Miyaura cross-coupling of aryl chlorides is comparable with the best catalysts known to date for these reactions.
