Three-Component Cyclization with Allenylboronate Platform

Significance

In the further development of the organboron ‘platform’ developed in this group, a sequential Pd- and Rh-catalyzed cyclization was accomplished. In this report the third component is an enolate instead of the previously reported amine (K. Tonogaki et al. J. Am. Chem. Soc. 2006, 128, 1464-1465). High E-selectivity is again observed. The resulting three-component products bearing the diester group could be cyclized under rhodium catalysis with high diastereo­selectivity.
