Dr. Armonda has constructed one of the most outstanding compendiums of carotid artery disease that I have ever read. From surgical techniques to the contemporary treatment with endovascular therapies, all aspects of care for this surgically treatable cause of stroke are included in this volume. In addition, a wonderful clinical review of the carotid dissections is also covered here. Finally, the clinical issues of prevention and management of perioperative complications of endarterectomy are discussed. Dr. Armonda deserves the highest kudos for creating one of the most outstanding issues of Seminars.
