Liposuction Breast Reduction

ABSTRACT

-Since 1996 I have performed all breast reductions using only liposuction. A total of 366 reductions with removal of up to 2300 cc per breast have been successfully performed with 3 minor complications. Ages ranged from 15 to 74. The average reduction was 800 cc. The average improvement of nipple position was 6 cm. Thirty-one simultaneous procedures were performed without complications. Significant skin retraction results from superficial skin liposuction and thorough glandular liposuction. Major volume reductions are possible because the breast is over 70% fat. The average patient has gone down two cup sizes. The patients are attracted primarily by the lack of scarring. There has been complete relief of preoperative symptoms with no nipple numbness or loss. Mammograms are improved compared with traditional techniques. Complications and expenses are substantially reduced compared with conventional surgery. Three bilateral mastopexies have been subsequently performed.
