The stereo- and regiospecific synthesis of Galβ1 → 3 GlcNAc derivatives was achieved in up to 57% yield employing the β-1 → 3-galactosyl-N-acetylhexosamine phosphorylase from Bifidobacterium bifidum DSM 20082.
