Fazit

Die thermische Ablation von symptomatischen Osteoidosteomen hat die Chirurgie als die Standardtherapie für diese Entität abgelöst. Innerhalb der thermischen Verfahren ist die CT-gesteuerte Radiofrequenzablation die am besten untersuchte und am häufigsten verwendete Therapie von Osteoidosteomen. Große Studien zeigen primäre Erfolgsraten zwischen 76 und 99 % (mittlere primäre Erfolgsrate: 86 %) und sekundäre Erfolgsraten (nach Reablation) zwischen 92 und 100 %. Bei einer zugleich mit etwa 3 % geringen Komplikationsrate handelt es sich somit bei der thermischen Ablation um eine effektive, sichere und kosteneffektive Technik.
