Herzinsuffizienz – eine mitochondriale Dysfunktion

Zusammenfassung

Die ATP-Synthese der Kardiomyozyten kann bei Herzinsuffizienz um bis zu 30 % reduziert sein. Daher scheint die Optimierung des Energiestoffwechsels der Herzmuskelzellen ein ursächlicher Ansatz zur Prävention und Therapie der Herzinsuffizienz zu sein. Die mitochondriale ATP-Synthese stellt dabei die Schlüsselfunktion dar, für die eine optimale Versorgung mit verschiedenen Mikronährstoffen limitierend ist. Die frühzeitige Diagnose eines Nährstoffmangels, der über eine mitochondriale Dysfunktion zum myokardialen Energiedefizit führen kann, ist somit ein wichtiger Faktor für die Prognose des Patienten mit Herzinsuffizienz.
