Significance

Starting from heterocyclic olefins of the general structure 1, which are easily available through ring-closing metathesis, a flexible and enantioselective iridium-catalyzed hydrogenation protocol towards chiral azacyles 2 has been developed. By using P,N-ligands, such as A, B or C, the products could be prepared in high conversions and enantioselectivities.
