Significance

Arterolane maleate together with piperaquine phosphate is in phase III clinical trials for the treatment of malaria. Arterolane is a stable synthetic ozonide generated by a stereoselective 1,3-dipolar cycloaddition of the carbonyl ylide C to the cyclohexanone B.
