Significance

The nickel(II)-catalyzed enantioselective intramolecular oxa-Michael addition is reported. The ligand of choice is a novel chiral N,N -dioxide compound derived from l-ramiprol backbone with a three-carbon linker chain. Good to excellent ee values (up to 99%) are obtained under mild reaction conditions, and the reaction is tolerant to both air and moisture.
