Significance

Chiral β-aryl-substituted γ-amino acids have the potential to serve as drugs. This copper-phosphine-catalyzed silane addition to γ-phthalimido-substituted α,β-unsaturated carboxylic acid esters provides a straightforward route for obtaining such molecules with high enantioselectivity.
