ABSTRACT
Many recently developed flaps have broadened the spectrum of soft-tissue coverage in defects of the hand and digits. This includes many intrinsic flaps of the hand as well as some small free flaps for particular clinical situations. This article gives an overview of the more recent developments in the field of flap design and their clinical application.
