Summary

In homeopathy if we can delve into the original crisis that created the first Delusion we become aware of how the person has constructed their self and their presenting disease around this Delusion. This Veratrum case reverberates with a crisis of self-examination which reflects both the Delusions of herself as God, and herself and her disease as the victim of God's judgment. God's vengeance has been absorbed into the core psychodynamic crisis which is subsequently borne to fruition in the very nature of her disease. In this case the woman believes she deserves the adenocarcinoma; she seeks no treatment. This is a suicide case. Veratrum album moved her stance on whether she deserved to die; Veratrum viride subsequently moved her Delusion of curing her own cancer.

I have had medical advice following the first consultation that if she had had radiotherapy at the time of the first diagnosis in 1992 her prognosis with this type of tumor would have been very favorable. Whether this advice was correct or not it is not possible to know; the essence of the case was she felt she did not deserve treatment.

This case resulted in death; but I do not view it as a case in which I did not cure the Delusion or original crisis; she died having lived for the first time in her life; this was a case of the spiritual healing of homeopathy.

The Veratrum case presented here is from a lecture series that concentrates on the ‘Delusions of Original Sin’. The cases that I present in this lecture series are based on the concept of original sin.

She refused to consider going to the doctor or taking prescribed antibiotics. I was very worried about the consequences of the infection.

Delusion he has done wrong. Veratrum album She did nothing to save her brother.

I also noted at the first consultation her self-assurance about refusing treatment; she appeared so arrogant about this that I should have seen that her arrogance was in fact an important indicator of the remedy picture.

I am not concerned by the seemingly high dose; it matches her physical need and the intensity of the pain and physical exhaustion; she continues to improve mentally and emotionally and physically.

A Veratrum album tumour is cold to touch.

The tumor has in fact metastasized into her jaw and was in fact threatening her spinal cord and carotid artery.

The Delusion of being in communication with God will in my experience of treating Veratrum cases cause them to stop taking the remedy. Patients with schizophrenia have exactly the same behaviour, mirroring the same delusions of exalted power, and profess communication with God and the Devil; often directed by God to stop taking their medication.
