Info-Flyer „Mammographie-Screening” in Deutschland - Welche Informationen enthält er und welche sollte er enthalten?

Zusammenfassung

Hintergrund: Mammographie-Screening soll in Deutschland flächendeckend eingeführt werden. Um auf Bevölkerungsebene relevante Ergebnisse zu erhalten, muss eine Teilnehmerquote von 75 % erreicht werden. Frauen werden mit einer Informationsbroschüre auf das Programm aufmerksam gemacht und zur Teilnahme ermuntert. Methode: Wir haben diese „Werbebroschüre” mittels eines Katalogs „notwendiger Informationen für eine eigenverantwortliche Entscheidung” geprüft und festgestellt, dass sie die Mehrzahl dieser Informationen nicht enthält, und dass auch faktisch keine an Zahlen festmachbaren Informationen enthalten sind. Schlussfolgerung: „Informed consent” ist dem Public-health-Ziel hoher Beteiligung geopfert worden.

Abstract

Background: Mammography screening is going to be introduced all over Germany. In order to achieve relevant results, it is necessary to have a participation rate of about 75 %. Information flyers have been developed to encourage women to take part in the screening programme. Method: We have examined this information flyer using a list of „necessary information for informed consent”. Result: The information flyer does not contain most of the necessary information; almost to concrete data on specificity, false positives etc. are presented. Conclusion: „Informed consent” is sacrificed for the sake of a public health approach aiming at maximal participation.
