Significance
The electrochemical oxidation of cyclohexene with aqueous ionic liquid in a silicone-based T-shaped microreactor was demonstrated. Thus, the reaction of cyclohexene with a Cu(II)-diamine complex was performed in an ionic-liquid [bmim][BF4]/phosphate buffer (0.5% w/w) across a voltage of 4 kV at a constant current of 200 µA to give the four oxidized products in 95% conversion. The authors mentioned that catalytic activities and yields of the products in the microreactor were relatively higher than those in the conventional bulk reactor. The catalytic activities mediated by a Cu(II)-Schiff base complex and Mn(II) complexes in the microreactor were also described.
