Der Morbus Scheuermann

Zusammenfassung

Der Morbus Scheuermann ist die häufigste Affektion der Wirbelsäule beim Jugendlichen, deren Ursache letztlich immer noch nicht geklärt ist. Bei thorakalen Formen imponiert klinisch in der Regel eine kurze knickförmige Kyphose, während lumbale und thorakolumbale Formen durch eine Abflachung der Lendenlordose gekennzeichnet sind.
Die Therapie der Wahl besteht in konservativen Maßnahmen wie Krankengymnastik und einer Orthesenversorgung. Nur selten ist eine operative Therapie erforderlich.

Abstract

Scheuermann’s kyphosis is the most common affection of the adolescent spine but its etiology still remains unclear. In the thoracic spine mostly a short and sharp bending of the kyphosis can be seen whereas the lumbar and thoracolumbar disease results in a reduction of the normal lumbar lordosis.
The adequate therapy consists of conservative treatment with physiotherapy and orthoses. Very rarely an operative treatment is necessary.
