Die Inzidenz des kolorektalen Karzinoms steigt ab dem 50. Lebensjahr deutlich an. Daher wird für asymptomatische Personen ab diesem Alter ein Darmkrebs-Screening empfohlen. Neben den klassischen Methoden stehen dabei zunehmend nicht-invasive Methoden zur Verfügung.
