Parodontitis – Mikroflora bei Hunden mit Parodontitis und Wirksamkeit von Antibiotika

Parodontalerkrankungen sind ein häufiges Problem bei Hunden. Auf den Zähnen bildet sich innerhalb von 24 Stunden ein Zahnbelag (Plaque). Plaque ist prinzipiell ein Biofilm, bestehend aus zu Beginn vor allem grampositiven aeroben Bakterien (meist Streptococcus spp., Staphylococcus spp., Enterococcus spp.) in einer Matrix aus Glykoproteinen und Polysacchariden [16] . Bei Nichtentfernung der Plaque entwickelt sich eine Gingivitis und schließlich kommt es zur Parodontitis. Dabei nimmt die Anzahl der Bakterien stetig zu, wobei die gramnegativen Keime, einschließlich der Anaerobier, die Mehrheit darstellen [16], [17] . Die bei diesem Prozess entstehenden tiefen Zahntaschen stellen ein geeignetes Milieu zur Weitervermehrung der Bakterien dar, insbesondere der anaeroben Keime.
