Kernaussagen
  • Je eher bei unspezifischer Symptomatik an ein Schütteltrauma gedacht wird, desto eher kann eine adäquate Diagnostik und Therapie eingeleitet werden.

  • Diagnostik und Therapie sind interdisziplinär und richten sich nach der akuten Symptomatik.

  • Die Basisdiagnostik umfasst neben Anamnese und aktuellem Status stets angepasste Laboruntersuchungen, eine Fundoskopie und eine zerebrale Bildgebung mit CT und/oder MRT.

  • Subdurale Blutungen, die mit Netzhautblutungen und Rippenfrakturen einhergehen, sind pathognomonisch für ein schweres Schütteltrauma.

  • Eine frühzeitige Verlegung in ein Klinikum der Maximalversorgung ist ratsam.

  • Ein rasches rechtsmedizinisches Konsil ist indiziert.

  • Eine perinatale Elternaufklärung ist eine effektive Maßnahme zur Prävention des Schütteltraumas.
