Dr. Gustavo Rossi is an Associate Professor of Surgery, in the Section of Colon and Rectal Surgery of the Department of Surgery at Hospital Italiano de Buenos Aires, Buenos Aires, Argentina. Dr. Rossi was born and raised in Buenos Aires and received his medical degree with honors in 1996 at University of Buenos Aires, School of Medicine. He completed his residency program and fellowship in colorectal surgery at Hospital Italiano de Buenos Aires, and afterward he spent some time as visiting physician in the Division of Colon and Rectal Surgery at Mayo Clinic of Rochester, MN. Eventually, he was promoted to his current position as attending colorectal surgeon of Hospital Italiano de Buenos Aires. Along the way, he has obtained many board certifications in his country, including general, colorectal, and minimally invasive surgery.

Dr. Rossi has an active clinical and academic life. His practice and research interest has been focused on all kinds of minimally invasive colorectal surgery, including laparoscopic, robotic, and transanal approaches. He has written many peer-reviewed articles and book chapters, covering different aspects of the management of colorectal diseases. He has traveled and given many invited lectures at international meetings all over the world in all topic of colorectal surgery. He also has served and serves as reviewer for many medical journals including Surgical Endoscopy, Diseases of the Colon & Rectum, and Techniques in Coloproctology, and he is currently the Director of Colorectal Surgery Fellowship of Hospital Italiano de Buenos Aires and Vice Director of Colorectal Surgery Program at University of Buenos Aires, School of Medicine.

Dr. Rossi is married to Verónica and they have two beautiful daughters (Julia and Clara). When not working he enjoys playing many sports, especially soccer and running, as well as skiing with his family. He also enjoys exploring restaurants and tasting wines.
