Schlafrestriktion – ein gewichtiges Problem

Umfangreiche Studien deuteten auf einen Zusammenhang zwischen kurzer Schlafdauer und dem Risiko einer Gewichtszunahme sowie der Entwicklung von Typ-2-Diabetes. Ursächlich kann Schlafmangel das Hungergefühl und die Nahrungsaufnahme steigern. Zudem verschlechtern bereits wenige Tage mit unzureichender Nachtruhe die insulingesteuerte Glukoseverarbeitung. Demnach ist ausreichender und qualitativ guter Nachtschlaf wichtig für die metabolische Gesundheit des Menschen.
