Palliativmedizinische Betreuung einer Patientin mit fortgeschrittenem metastasierendem Zervixkarzinom: Erhaltung der Lebensqualität bis zuletzt

Zusammenfassung

In der hier vorgestellten Kasuistik wird anhand des Krankheitsverlaufs einer Patientin auf der Palliativstation einer onkologischen Klinik die Komplexität der verschiedenen unterstützenden und sich ergänzenden Maßnahmen der modernen Palliativmedizin dargestellt. Bei effektiver Symptomkontrolle eines hier vorliegenden umfangreichen Beschwerdebildes, ergänzt durch spirituelle und kunsttherapeutische Begleitung von Seiten des behandelnden Teams und einer von Dankbarkeit geprägten Eigenreflexion des Lebensverlaufs durch die Patientin, können auch letzte Lebensabschnitte mit oft sehr begrenzter Zeit von großem Wert erfüllt sein.

Summary

This case report tries to present the complexity of different and combined supportive and complementary treatments in a palliative care setting, concerning the course of disease of a female patient. A long therapeutic range from implemented therapeutic interventions for symptom control, complemented by spiritual guidance and art therapy and not at least the patient’s own reflection about her life till now, can show us the individual value in a period of limited lifetime.
