Implantatgestützter Zahnersatz gehört heute zum Behandlungsstandard in der täglichen Zahnarztpraxis und stellt nicht selten besondere Anforderungen an den Behandler. Während die Versorgung des atrophierten zahnlosen Unterkiefers eher zu den seltenen Behandlungsfällen gehört und der hybridprothetische Zahnersatz unter Verwendung von Implantaten sehr viele ästhetische Kompensationsmöglichkeiten bietet, gehört der Einzelzahnersatz aus Gründen der Angleichung an die benachbarten meist natürlichen Zähne zu den besonderen Herausforderungen, die sorgfältig geplant werden müssen.
