Tierärzte werden in der täglichen Routinepraxis zunehmend von besorgten Tierhaltern mit Fragen zu einem Gendefekt konfrontiert, der in der Hundepopulation innerhalb zahlreicher Rassen eine weite Verbreitung erfahren hat. Um eine Hilfestellung zu geben, wie im Vorfeld einer geplanten oder notwendigen tierärztlichen Behandlung Komplikationen auszuschließen sind, werden nachstehend die wichtigsten und häufigsten Fragen zum Thema MDR1-Gendefekt aufgeführt.
