Significance
(±)-7-Isocyanoamphilecta-11(20),15-diene was isolated in Australia from the tropical marine sponge Cymbastela hooperi. Other compounds in the amphilectane-type diterpenoid family of natural products have been shown to have a wide range of biological activity including antimicrobial, anti-inflammatory, antimalarial and antituberculosis.
