Significance

Silver nanoparticles supported on hydrotalcite [HT; Mg6Al2(OH)16CO3] (Ag/HT) catalyzed the deoxygenation of styrene epoxides 1 under CO gas to give the corresponding styrenes 2 in up to 95% yield (11 examples). In the reaction of trans-stilbene oxide (1a), the catalyst was recovered by simple filtration and reused twice without any loss of its catalytic activity.
