Significance
The platinum-catalyzed cycloisomerization of dienynes leads to a strained cyclopropane intermediate which rearranges selectively to bicyclo[3.2.2]nonadienes or 1,6,7,9a-tetrahydrocyclohepta[c]pyrans and -pyridines depending on the nature of the substrate.
