Significance

The cationic palladium complex was shown to be a good catalyst for the tandem annulation of 2-formylarylboronic acid and allen­oates to produce indenol derivatives with good yield and diastereoselectivity. The use of chiral diphosphine ligands also provided good enantio­selectivities for this novel transformation.
