Significance

Racemic 1-alkyl-2-methylenecyclopropanes undergo silaborative C-C bond cleavage kinetic resolution catalyzed by a palladium complex bearing a chiral phosphoramidite. Interaction of the double bond with palldium species favor the less hindered face of the olefin, therefore different vinylic C-C bonds are cleaved in the two enantiomers.
