Significance

Direct allylation of carbamates with achiral allylic carbonates is realized through iridium catalysis to afford very useful chiral allylic amines with various carbamate-protecting groups in excellent yields and enantiomeric ratios. The undesired linear products can be readily separated through chromatography to afford pure branched products.
