Significance
Enamide synthesis is a challenging problem in organic synthesis, especially for highly substituted ones. The authors provided an efficient method to generate multisubstituted enamides with high regio- and stereoselectivities via rhodium-catalyzed carbozincation of ynamides, which are much easier to synthesize. A mechanism involving alkenylzinc intermediates was proposed and trisubstituted enamides were synthesized based on this postulation.
