Significance

Palladium nanoparticles supported on an organic-inorganic hybrid material 2 bearing fluorous alkyl groups were prepared by treatment of Na2PdCl6 with 2 in the presence of NaOAc. The Heck reaction of iodobenzene and butyl acrylate was catalyzed by 2 mol% Pd of 3 to give butyl cinnamate in >99% conversion. The use of microwave shortened the reaction time from 24 hours to 1.5 hours.
