Klima und Regionen: Einsatz einheimischer Pflanzen im ayurvedischen Medizinsystem

Zusammenfassung

Die ayurvedische Medizin (indische Naturheilkunde) gewinnt in Deutschland immer mehr an Bedeutung und arbeitet sich auch langsam aus dem „Nur-Wellness“-Bereich heraus. Allerdings stellt sich die Frage, ob es unter ökologischen Aspekten sinnvoll ist, asiatische Heilpflanzen oder auch nur asiatische Nahrungsmittel in Deutschland zu verwenden. Es ist ein Transport über eine weite Entfernung notwendig, von den Zollbestimmungen ganz zu schweigen. Ayurvedische Präparate entsprechen in vielen Fällen nicht den deutschen Gesetzen, sie sind verunreinigt. In einigen davon wird extra Quecksilber verwendet, was in Deutschland nicht zulässig ist. Andererseits ist das ayurvedische Medizinsystem sehr logisch, durchdacht und wirksam und wunderbar auch außerhalb Indiens anwendbar. Daher bietet es sich an, auf einheimische Pflanzen auszuweichen. Sie sind leicht und in guter Qualität (DAB, „Deutsches Arznei-Buch“) über die Apotheken beziehbar und deutlich günstiger als die indischen Präparate.

Abstract

Ayurvedic medicine (Indian naturopathy) is gaining more and more importance in Germany and is also slowly leaving the “wellness-only” zone. However, the question must be asked whether it makes sense from an ecological point of view to use Asian medicinal plants or even just Asian food in Germany. They have to be transported over a long distance, not to mention the customs regulations. In many cases, Ayurvedic preparations do not comply with German laws, because they are contaminated. In some preparations extra mercury is used, which is not permitted in Germany. On the other hand, the Ayurvedic medical system is very logical, well thought out and effective, and can also be applied wonderfully outside India. It is therefore a good idea to switch to native plants. They are easily available in good quality (DAB "Deutsches Arzneibuch") from pharmacies and considerably cheaper than Indian preparations.
