Funktionelle Stimmtransition von Trans*Frauen – Eine Doppelfallstudie
Voice Transition for Trans*Women – Double Case StudyZusammenfassung
Abstract
Intro Voice transition is an important aspect of the alignment process in particular for trans*women.
Methods Within the framework of an explorative study, the logopedically achieved voice transition was evaluated.
Results The speaking voice in the audio recordings judged as sufficiently feminine was accordingly attributed the adjective “feminine” by the subjects, two trans-women, whereas the adjectives “high” and “bright” were attributed by the speech therapists. Phonetically, the mean speaking pitch in these recordings is 176.02 Hz. respectively 145.58 Hz. Significant differences with large effect sizes were found between the mean values for WP (femininity assessment of the test subjects) and ZP (satisfaction assessment of the test subjects) of test subjects 1 and 2. The results of the audio recordings show a strong correlation between satisfaction and femininity on the part of the test persons and a medium correlation in the external assessment by the speech therapists. Interview results lead to recommendations regarding lower-threshold access to relevant information and therapy services.
Conclusion Voice training can lead to an increase in the voice pitch, femininity assessment and satisfaction in trans*women in the context of voice transition.
