Case Report: True Thymic Hyperplasia in a 30-Day-Old Boy
Echte Thymushyperplasie bei einem 30 Tage alten Säugling
Introduction
True thymic hyperplasia is rare and most often described in infants and young children. It presents as a non-neoplastic mediastinal mass. While the normal thymic architecture is preserved; the thymus is enlarged in size and weight (Weis CA et al., Pathologe 2017; 38(4): 286–293, Tadiotto E et al., Clin Case Reports 2019; 7(1): 27–31).
This report describes a 30-day old boy with true thymic hyperplasia, who presented with upper respiratory symptoms.
