Die Hysterie um MRSA – es ist Zeit, damit aufzuhören!

In den letzten 10 Jahren hat sich in Deutschland die MRSA-Rate von initial ca. 25% auf zuletzt 15% reduziert [1]. Hierbei hat sich der Anteil nosokomialer Fälle konstant verringert: in 2016 betrug dieser bei ca. 76 000 Fällen nicht einmal mehr 8% [2]. Für die meisten Häuser mit 200 – 600 Betten bedeutet dies, dass dort jährlich ca. 10 – 80 MRSA-positive Patienten vorkommen. In derselben Dekade nahm gleichzeitig die MRSA-Screening-Rate von ca. 5% in 2006 auf ca. 40% in 2016 um das 8-Fache zu. Die Detektionsrate hat daher konstant abgenommen und lag zuletzt nur noch im Promillebereich. Hinzu kommt, dass mit ca. 90% die allermeisten Patienten mit diesem Erreger kolonisiert sind und dies auch während ihres gesamten stationären Aufenthalts bleiben.
