Eine ungewöhnliche doppelseitige Quadriceps-»Parese«*

Zusammenfassung

Es wird ein Fall von doppelseitiger spontaner Ruptur der Ligamenta patellae vorgestellt. Die Diagnose wurde erst 5 Monate nach dem akuten Ergebnis vom Neurologen gestellt, obwohl die Kranke praktisch kontinuierlich stationär von Ärzten verschiedener Disziplinen betreut, untersucht, geröntgt und beobachtet worden war. Die diagnostischen Probleme werden diskutiert, die Therapie wird kurz beschrieben. Das Syndrom muß bei der Differential-diagnose der Quadricepsparesen bedacht werden.

Summary

The author presents a case of bilateral spontaneous rupture of the ligamenta patellae. This diagnosis was effected only five months after the acute event, and that in fact by a neurologist - although the woman in whom the signs were noticed had been looked after, examined, x-rayed and observed practically all the time on an in-patient basis by doctors of various disciplines. The problems of diagnosis are discussed and treatment is described briefly. This syndrome must be taken into account when arriving at a differential diagnosis of pareses of the quadriceps extensor mechanism.
