Summary
Sexual dysfunctions are common features in the course of depressive disorders. These disturbances may be symptoms of the depressive mood disorder itself (mainly loss of libido, list and interest). An effective anti-depressive treatment may generate sexual dysfunctions likewise. Observance of these side effects is of crucial importance for patients compliance and satisfaction. Possible causes for sexual dysfunctions and therapeutic options in the treatment of the depressive disorder are discussed.
