ABSTRACT

Entrapment neuropathies occur in the lower extremity as well as in the upper extremity. The lateral femoral cutaneous nerve, the common peroneal nerve, the posterior tibial nerve, and the sciatic nerve all may be at times rendered dysfunctional without obvious trauma. These focal neuropathies may be ammenable to surgical treatment. The recognition and surgical treatment of entrapment neuropathies of these nerves is described.
