Zusammenfassung

Wir berichten über den Einsatz der diagnostischen Laparoskopie bei einem Frühgeborenen mit Verdacht auf eine nekrotisierende Enterocolitis (NEC). Es werden der klinische Verlauf, paraklinische Befunde, bildgebende Diagnostik und das endoskopische Vorgehen beschrieben. Der dargestellte Fall verdeutlicht, wie das minimal-invasive Verfahren ein frühzeitiges differentialdiagnostisches Vorgehen ermöglicht und so eine probatorische Laparotomie umgangen werden konnte.

Laparoscopy in the differential diagnosis of pneumatosis intestinalis in a preterm infant

Summary

We report the application of diagnostic laparascopy in a premature infant with hemorrhagic diarrhea and pneumatosis intestinalis, without any other signs of necrotizing enterocolitis (NEC). The clinical presentation, paraclinic findings, x-ray and the endoscopic procedure will be described. This case documents the practicality of minimally-invasive techniques in the differential diagnosis of NEC, thus avoiding an exploratory laparatomy.
